Jacques Longpre and Paul Basile are Alaskan songwriters whose paths first crossed over twenty years ago in Bethel, AK. On September 10th, they will share the stage again for one special night of solo performances at the Porcupine Theater.

Paul Basile is the frontman and primary songwriter of the formerly New York City based, indie rock band Great Elk. With Great Elk and as a solo performer, Basile has released numerous records and toured internationally. Since the release of Great Elk’s excellent 2015 LP “STAR STUFF” and Paul’s move back to Bethel, Alaska in the same year, he’s mostly been quiet, instead focusing on other pursuits like dadding and sled dog race management. But in recent years Basile has resumed some limited touring and Great Elk is currently hard at work on a new record.

Jacques Longpre is an Alaskan singer-songwriter whose music reflects his upbringing along the Kuskokwim River. His blend of folk, grunge, and blues explores themes of isolation and nature’s beauty. Influenced by traditional storytelling and grunge energy, Jacques creates a nostalgic yet contemporary sound.

This is a 21+ event, those under 21 who wish to attend may do so if accompanied by a parent or guardian.
