In the intimate setting of The Porcupine, the Glacier Quartet brings to life the intense excitement of Shostakovich’s autobiographical string quartet, which reflects his oppression under Stalin. They also perform the sublime pathos of Schubert’s String Quintet in C Major, a work with two cellos, which is his final chamber composition and regarded as one of the greatest in the chamber music repertoire.

Formed in 2022, the Glacier Quartet consists of some of Alaska’s most prominent professional musicians, specifically brought together to perform chamber music—the pinnacle of musical expression by the world’s greatest composers.
